Doctors’ offices all over the world are filled right now with people who just don’t feel like themselves. They aren’t necessarily sick, but they feel off like something isn’t right. They’ve usually tried various home remedies to no avail.
They have probably even taken to the internet to look up their symptoms – subsequently scaring themselves half to death because Google is notorious for taking you directly to the worst-case scenario (please don’t look up your symptoms on the internet – it is terrifying and usually not even applicable to your case).
They may have symptoms like:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Impulsivity
- Inability to focus
- Insomnia
- Lack of motivation
- Meltdowns
- Pain
- Memory problems
- Mood swings
- Restlessness
- Social withdrawal
Or you could just have a sense that something isn’t quite right in your body.
We may have the answer.
Did you know that your brainwaves can become dysregulated? Just like any other part of your body, from serotonin production affecting your mood to insulin affecting your blood sugar, to sodium affecting your blood pressure, your brainwaves can become disrupted, and it can through your entire body out of sync.
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms or if you are just feeling like something is off with you, a brain map could help you understand what is going on and point you to the appropriate treatment.
What is a Brain Map?
A brain map is a diagnostic tool that is used to determine how your brain is firing, or how efficiently it is firing. It is a simple, painless medical test that is done in the office in a matter of minutes. There are no side effects. Patients can immediately resume their normal activities once the test has concluded.
It is very simple, but the benefits are tremendous. Once you have your brain map, you and your healthcare provider can review it to determine your best course of treatment. A Brain Map will find the dysregulations or disruptions in your brain and give you the answers you’ve been looking for.
It will help guide your neurofeedback sessions so that they are optimally beneficial to you. A Brain Map will guide your treatment plan so that you can take the necessary steps to feel better. Many patients report that after getting their brain map and following through with the neurofeedback sessions that they ultimately felt better than they ever have in their lives.
Now that’s a good reason to get your brain map and get started on neurofeedback right away!
Does it Hurt to Get a Brain Map?
No. Getting your brain map, like neurofeedback sessions, is non-invasive and painless. Most of our patients report no discomfort at all.
When you get your brain map, the technician will place a special soft cap on your head. This cap fits like a stocking cap and is equipped with dozens of electrodes that are connected to a diagnostic machine. As your brain is being mapped, the electrodes “read” your brain waves and send reports to the machine. The machine produces a picture of your brainwaves that the technician reads and can see the areas that are dysregulated or not functioning as they should.
What Will a Brain Map Tell Me?
From your brain map, the technician can tell several key things:
- How effectively your brain is functioning.
- Identifies the brainwaves that are dysregulated.
- The areas of your brain that need to be addressed through neurofeedback.
- Any dormant or low functioning areas of your brain.
- The best plan of action for neurofeedback.
This information will guide your treatment and help regulate the dysregulated brainwaves that are causing our symptoms. You will feel better, function better, sleep better, and it may even help you get off or reduce any medications you are taking for your symptoms.
